Privacy Policy

At Austin Healing Herbs & Acupuncture (AHHA) we understand that medical information about you and your health is personal.    In order to provide you with quality care and to comply with certain legal requirements we create a record of the care and services you receive at AHHA.  We are committed to protecting your medical information and to keeping it secure unless we have your written consent for its disclosure.  However there are instances in which your Personal Health Information (PHI) may be disclosed without your expressed written consent according to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and they are 1) at your verbal request, 2) as required by an agency of the government, and 3) for treatment or payment.  AHHA will make every effort to ensure that only the minimum amount of your PHI necessary be made available in these cases.
