I love everything about Chinese Medicine. I love treating first time patients and seeing the fear and anxiety melt away when they realize that it doesn't hurt to have someone put needles in you. I love making medicine out of plants, but most of all I love watching people who had lost hope, get better. I love watching them pick up the pieces of an emotional and physical life that was way out of balance and then reassemble their lives and that is what I try to do for my patients.
I got my Bachelors degree in communications from the University of Texas at Austin and then proceeded to not work in communications. I ended up being a "computer guy" running servers, networks and phone systems for a medium sized company in Austin. After a few years of that, I was in the position to be able to go back to school and my wife said OK, so acupuncture it was and I have never looked back.
I was fortunate enough to have had some training in China and that was not only informative, but quite eye-opening. China is an amazing place and I can't wait to go back. I am also fortunate enough to be married to a wonderful, patient woman and have the greatest kid on the planet. When I am not sticking needles in people I enjoy getting away for a paragliding vacation to the mountains. Riding 1200 foot per minute thermals is about one of the most exciting things I have ever done and I hope this summer will bring that opportunity.
